Volumetric metering
screw feeders can be used in water treatment works.
Their function is
to meter the discharge of medium from the silo to a wetting cone. It is usually
complete with hopper and hopper dehumidifier. The construction material usually
is 316L stainless steel. The turndown ratio is 20:1. The motor is VFD driven.
The screw feeder shall operate under control of an adjustable timer to provide
a means of varying the batch concentration. A low level switch for hopper (with
DI output signal) is necessary.
The medium usually
includes polymer powder, sodium silicofluoride powder and powdered activated
carbon. The feeding capacity usually is 7.5-160L/h for polymer powder and
soldium silicofluoride and 100-2000L/h for powdered activated carbon.
